Finding Writing Emphasis Course Offerings

A course is designated as a "Writing Emphasis" course in the semester it is offered—thus, an individual course may be a WE course one semester and not the next. It’s even possible (though rare) that someone can offer two sections of the same course and designate one as WE and the other not.

To find out what’s being offered for Writing Emphasis credit, go to the “Class Timetable” section of the UWL web site and use the “Searchable Timetable,” searching by “Writing Emphasis” (available at the top as “Search Type”) and department—and semester, if you’re interested in what received WE credit in prior semesters.
